Billy is co-owned with our very dear friend Bill. Human
Bill is now
better known as Dr William Riccardelli. Bill and I were
roommates in college, and have remained close ever since. I promised him
once he graduated medical
school I would name a dog after him. Our Billy was born just a few days
before Bill graduated. Billy is out
of Ch. Messiah's ELS Amazing Grace (Tess) and Ch Oaklanes this Buds for Us.
Bud was the 2002 Westminster Best of Breed Winner. He
is our happy go
lucky puppy. We love to call him a host of nicknames such as wild Bill,
Dollar Bill and Baby Billy goat.
Billy is the most laid back silly guy I have had. He reminds me very much
of his grandmother Elsa and his
mommy Tess. He has their same silly mouthy temperament. He loves to grab
your hand and walk you around. This a habit I am trying desperately to break
: ) He also gives
me that very devious look before he
tries to jump me....the same look that I get on a regular basis from Elsa.
In any case he is turning out
to be a beautiful boy with a wonderful head and excellent structure. He is
starting the typical momma's
boy behaviors...following me and running to me when ever he gets scared.
This makes him absolutely
irresistible to me. Bill has turned out to be a stunning example of
the breed, both in temperament and in stature. Unfortunately he was
diagnosed with Fragmented coronid process and will never be shown or bred.
Initially this was difficult news to take, as we waited several years to
have a ~specials~ male. Here he was all 230 beautiful pounds of him that
would never see the show ring. Billy had other plans however, and now
enjoys doing therapy at the hospital every Sunday. He enjoys this so much,
there are time when I unsure of who benefits more from his therapy work,
the patients or Bill!
